IndiGo Flight Bomb Threat at Delhi Airport
An IndiGo flight bound for a domestic destination received a bomb threat just minutes before its scheduled takeoff from Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport on Wednesday. The threat prompted immediate security protocols, and the aircraft was moved to an isolated bay for thorough inspection.
Security Agencies on High Alert
According to airport officials, the threat was received via a phone call to the airline's customer service. The flight, which was carrying over 150 passengers, was grounded, and all passengers were safely deplaned. Security agencies, including the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and local police, are conducting a comprehensive search of the aircraft and baggage.
Passengers Safe – All passengers have been evacuated, and no injuries have been reported. The airline has arranged for alternative travel arrangements for the affected passengers.
Investigation Underway
Authorities are investigating the source of the threat. The aircraft is being checked with sniffer dogs and bomb detection equipment. A senior CISF official stated that the threat appears to be a hoax, but all precautions are being taken. The flight's departure was delayed, and operations at the airport continue normally.
This incident comes amid heightened security measures across Indian airports. The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has been alerted, and an inquiry has been ordered.
