A tragic incident occurred in the Latori Chowki area of Surajpur district on Saturday evening, where a three-month-old boy lost his life after his intoxicated parents allegedly fell on him during a domestic quarrel, according to police.
Incident Details
The child's mother, Munni Bai, approximately 28 years old, and father, Dilip, around 35, both daily-wage laborers, were heavily intoxicated when an argument broke out at their residence, said Chowki SHO Arun Gupta. During the altercation, Munni Bai reportedly lost her balance and fell onto the infant, causing fatal injuries.
Police Response
The incident was reported by the woman's father-in-law. The child's body has been sent for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. As of now, no case has been registered. Police are recording statements from family members and others while awaiting the post-mortem report to establish the sequence of events.
Authorities have not yet filed any charges, as they are gathering evidence and waiting for the forensic results. The investigation is ongoing.
