The Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) on Tuesday sealed an under-construction building located near the Vivek Vihar Metro Station for allegedly violating approved building norms. According to civic officials, a basement and a three-storey structure were being constructed on plot number F-6 in Govardhan Colony, opposite pillar number 87 of the metro station, without adhering to sanctioned plans and prescribed regulations.
Violation of Civic Orders
Civil Lines Zone deputy commissioner Sunil Kumar Bairwa stated that the property owner had earlier been served notices directing him to stop the construction work. However, despite repeated warnings, work continued at the site. Following the alleged violation of civic orders, the corporation sealed the premises, shut the entry to the building, and pasted a sealing notice at the site. All construction activity was halted with immediate effect.
Ongoing Drive Against Unauthorised Construction
Officials said the civic body would continue its drive against unauthorised constructions across the city. In such cases, owners are first allowed to comply through notices, but sealing and legal action are initiated if the directions are ignored. In a separate action, the corporation issued a notice to The Boss Jaipur Club near Laxmi Mandir Tiraha for allegedly lacking mandatory fire safety measures, including fire extinguishers and a fire NOC.
Fire Safety Violations
The club management has been given three days to install the required fire safety infrastructure and obtain the necessary clearance. Officials warned that the premises could be sealed if it fails to comply within the stipulated period. The action is part of the corporation’s ongoing enforcement drive against building and fire safety violations in the city.
