Ranchi: Booth-level officers (BLOs) will collect applications from new voters through door-to-door visits during the claims and objections filing period under the special intensive revision (SIR) of the electoral roll, Jharkhand chief electoral officer (CEO) K Ravi Kumar said on Thursday.
Process Timeline and Activities
Kumar stated, “The SIR process in the state will commence on June 20. Preparations, training, and necessary printing work will be carried out from June 20 to June 29. BLOs will conduct door-to-door visits from June 30 to July 29 to provide enumeration forms to voters and perform verification.”
Special Camps for Uncontacted Voters
Special camps will also be organized for voters who could not be reached by BLOs. “No voter's name will be removed from the electoral roll without a hearing. People should not pay attention to misleading information,” the CEO emphasized.
Important Clarification on Aadhaar
“Aadhaar card is a proof of identity but not a domicile or citizenship document. A person should provide documents listed by the Election Commission along with Aadhaar card during SIR,” Kumar stressed.
