Kanpur: District magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh on Tuesday took cognisance of the absence of several officials from a review meeting related to the CM dashboard, development projects, construction works and revenue matters.
Action Against Absent Officials
The officials against whom action was initiated included tourism officer Neelam Gautam; project manager of the tourism department’s executing agency Sukhveer Singh; and Sandesh Singh Tomar. The DM directed the authorities to stop the disbursement of their salaries for absence from the meeting without approval.
Warning and Show-Cause Notices
The DM warned of strict action against the officials of the departments getting poor rank. He also directed to issue show-cause notices to the officers of 12 projects which had failed to complete within the stipulated time.
Quality and Timely Completion
He stated that executing agencies share equal responsibility for maintaining the quality of construction works and completing them in a time-bound manner.
Meeting Attendees
Chief development officer Abhinav Jain, Joint Magistrate/Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Sadar) Anubhav Singh, the chief medical officer, the Additional District Magistrate (City), and other concerned officials were present at the meeting.
