The temple remains closed during the winter months due to heavy snowfall and reopens in April or May each year. The reopening is marked by a grand ceremony, including the installation of the idol and rituals performed by priests.

The Prime Minister's appeal aligns with the government's ongoing Swachh Bharat Mission, which aims to promote cleanliness across the country. Pilgrimage Experience

The journey to Kedarnath involves a trek of about 16 kilometers from Gaurikund, though helicopter services are also available.
