Prayagraj: Panic gripped Miya Ka Pura and adjoining areas under the limits of Saraymamrez police station on Sunday following the death of a lineman identified as Babloo (28), a resident of Gosaipur village. He allegedly died on Saturday night after falling from an electric pole while working.
Incident Details
The family members and supporters placed the body of the deceased on the Phulpur-Vari route and blocked vehicular movement for more than two hours, demanding compensation for the kin of the deceased. Police said that Babloo fell from the electric pole on May 17 and succumbed to his injuries during treatment at a hospital on Saturday night.
Agitation and Resolution
Family members and supporters brought the body to the village and placed it on the busy route. Upon being alerted, senior police officers rushed to the spot and pacified the agitators. The villagers and family members called off their agitation after holding talks with police and power department officials. The road blockade lasted two hours.
Authorities assured the family that necessary action would be taken regarding compensation. The situation has now returned to normal, and traffic has resumed on the route.
