Man Arrested in Udaynagar Fair Murder Case

Indore: Dewas police on Monday arrested a man in connection with the Udaynagar fair murder case. The suspect, identified as Gorelal Chauhan, a resident of Imlipura, was apprehended near Sendhwa while attempting to flee to Maharashtra, where he planned to work as a laborer to evade arrest.

Murder Motive

Police officials revealed that the murder was driven by a desire to avenge the death of Chauhan's close friend, Sumit. Months earlier, a fatal dispute had erupted over dancing at a wedding ceremony in Udaynagar, which resulted in Sumit's murder. Chauhan had accompanied Sumit to the wedding, and the deceased's family repeatedly held Chauhan responsible for the incident.

Pressure and Revenge

According to Udaynagar police station in-charge Vijendra Singh Solanki, Chauhan was under continuous pressure from his friend's family, who accused him of being complicit in Sumit's death. To clear his name and seek revenge, Chauhan allegedly plotted and executed the murder of the individual he believed was responsible for Sumit's demise.
