A 54-year-old man lost his life when his motorcycle plunged into an uncovered drainage pit in Satpur, Nashik, late on Saturday night. The incident has triggered sharp outrage among residents, who accuse civic authorities of negligence.
Details of the Accident
The deceased, identified as Pravin Gaikwad, a resident of Jijamata Nagar in Shivajinagar, met with the accident around 11:30 PM near Saat Mauli Chowk while returning home. According to police, Gaikwad unknowingly rode into the exposed pit, causing his motorcycle's front wheel to get stuck. He was thrown violently onto the road, sustaining severe head and chest injuries.
Immediate Response and Medical Efforts
Nearby residents rushed to help Gaikwad and shifted him to a private hospital at Carbon Naka. As his condition deteriorated, he was referred to Nashik Civil Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Senior Inspector Prakash Ahire of the Satpur police station confirmed that a case of accidental death has been registered. Further investigation is underway to determine the circumstances leading to the tragedy.
