MC Seeks Detailed Plan for Heritage Rose Club Before Repairs

The Chandigarh municipal corporation is set to seek a detailed plan from the selected agency before any repair or minor construction begins at the Rose Club, given its heritage status. Officials said any structural change will need prior MC approval.

“Though terms were laid out during the tender, the heritage tag calls for closer scrutiny. The agency will submit detailed proposals, which are under discussion,” sources said.

The MC general house had in April approved awarding the club on a 10-year public-private partnership (PPP) model. The successful bidder quoted the highest annual licence fee of Rs 26.76 lakh (excluding GST).

According to MC records, two bids were received — Rs 23.40 lakh and Rs 26.76 lakh per annum. After financial scrutiny, the engineering department cleared the highest bid as per tender norms.
