MCG to Consider Land Handover for RRTS Casting Yard in Gurgaon
MCG to Consider Land for RRTS Casting Yard in Gurgaon

The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) is set to deliberate on a proposal to temporarily transfer 0.1 hectares of land near Dundahera village to the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) for a period of five years. This land will be utilized for setting up an RRTS casting yard for the Sarai Kale Khan–Gurgaon–Bawal Namo Bharat corridor. The matter will be taken up during the upcoming House meeting scheduled for May 11.

Background of the Land Transfer Proposal

Following formal requests from NCRTC in November 2025 and February 2026, MCG confirmed its ownership of the identified land parcel. The proposal underwent review by state authorities and the chief secretary’s office. A meeting chaired by the chief secretary on January 9 directed MCG and Manesar authorities to promptly hand over available land to NCRTC and complete necessary formalities in coordination with the urban local bodies (ULB) department.

The proposal will now be placed before the House for approval. If cleared by councillors, the matter will be forwarded to the ULB department and the Haryana government for final approval.

VITA Milk Booths and Other Key Proposals

The House will also consider a proposal to allow the establishment of VITA milk booths at key locations across the city. This proposal was submitted by the Ballabgarh Co-operative Milk Producers Union Ltd. Subsequently, the ULB department directed MCG to facilitate the setting up of these milk booths. If approved, MCG may allot sites to the milk union at rates prescribed by the department.

Another significant proposal concerns the auction of 50% of booths, SCOs, commercial towers, and group housing sites at Vyapar Sadan. The matter was discussed during a meeting of the district public grievances and dispute redressal committee on December 17, 2025. Following this, approval of the House has been sought before the proposal is sent to the ULB department, according to an MCG official.

Auction of Unitech Properties

MCG will also discuss the proposed auction of 11 out of 13 properties transferred by Unitech Ltd. in 2019 during the handover of South City 1 and South City 2 colonies. Two school sites in Heritage City are currently under litigation. Following directives from the Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP), MCG plans to auction the available sites to recover costs for pending infrastructure works. The proposal seeks House approval to proceed as per departmental policy.

Khuli Baba Mandir Land Issue

A proposal concerning Khuli Baba Mandir will also be placed before MCG after ward 21 councillor Sonia Yadav sought exemption of nearly 10 acres of temple land from the purview of the Forest department, along with allocation of compensatory land by the civic body. However, the land in question is not owned by MCG, limiting the corporation’s ability to seek such an exemption. The matter has been scheduled for discussion in the House meeting and will be placed before members for information under provisions of the Haryana Municipal Corporation Act, 1994.

Private Developers Seeking Land Purchase

The civic body will also discuss proposals from private developers seeking the purchase of small parcels of MCG-owned revenue land or “revenue rasta” land. M/s Nourish Developers Pvt Ltd has sought the purchase of 0.1 acres of MCG revenue rasta land in Chauma village. Similar proposals have been submitted by M/s Union Buildmart Pvt Ltd, M/s Blue Bell Buildtech Pvt Ltd, M/s M3M India Pvt Ltd, M/s Manglam Multiplex Pvt Ltd, and M/s RP Realcon LLP for the purchase of revenue rasta land parcels in villages including Chauma, Badshahpur, and Dhanwapur. In most cases, officials noted that the parcels have become landlocked within licensed colonies and are no longer usable for independent civic purposes.
