Nagpur: As relief operations continue in fire-hit Dhamangaon, authorities have begun addressing both immediate needs and longer-term concerns, particularly for residents who lost critical documents and assets in the blaze.
Immediate Relief Measures
Following his visit on Sunday, guardian minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule confirmed that arrangements are in place to distribute foodgrains and essential supplies. Health camps and water tanker services have been deployed to ensure basic necessities. Educational support, including books, uniforms, and bicycles, will be provided to affected students to minimize disruption to their studies.
Document Reissue Camps
The district administration will set up special camps within a week to help residents reissue key documents such as Aadhaar and PAN cards, bank records, and land papers. Officials said the process will be streamlined to ensure quick access to benefits and services. This initiative aims to restore residents' ability to access government schemes and financial services.
Bank Relief on EMIs
A meeting with bank branch managers has been convened to explore temporary relief on EMIs, as several villagers lost household items and vehicles bought on credit. With insurance papers also destroyed, banks have been urged to adopt a flexible approach. The minister emphasized the need for empathy in dealing with the affected families.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation and coordinate with various departments to ensure comprehensive support for the victims of the Dhamangaon fire.
