Panchkula Police Doorstep Verification Service Launched

Panchkula police have introduced a doorstep verification system for services such as character certificates, passport checks and tenant verification, eliminating the need for applicants to visit police stations.

Initiative Overview

The initiative, launched on the directions of police commissioner Pankaj Nain, aims to make services more transparent, accountable and citizen-friendly.

Application Process

Under the system, applications can be submitted online via the Harsamay portal, after which they are forwarded to the police station concerned. A police official will visit the applicant’s residence to verify documents and details. Applicants will be contacted in advance to confirm their availability.

Feedback Mechanism

To enhance accountability, a feedback mechanism has also been introduced. After the verification, applicants will receive a call to share feedback on the conduct of the visiting officer, including whether any undue favour or bribe was sought and their overall experience.

Nain said the feedback will be reviewed regularly by the Commissioner’s Office, with daily monitoring to ensure effective implementation. For complaints or suggestions, the office of the deputy commissioner of police has issued a dedicated mobile number — 9115777026. Citizens can report delays, misconduct or corruption, with officials assuring confidentiality and impartial inquiry.

Police said the move would reduce repeated visits to stations and ensure time-bound, transparent service delivery, with strict action promised against any employee found guilty of negligence or corruption.
