In a significant operation against the illegal drug trade, a police team led by Simaria SDPO Nagargoje and Shubham Bhau Saheb conducted a raid in the Lawalong police station area and seized approximately 170 kilograms of illegal doda, which was being transported in a vehicle. The driver, however, managed to escape by taking advantage of the dense forest cover, police said on Wednesday.

Details of the Operation

Shubham Bhau Saheb stated that the police received intelligence that an SUV carrying illegal doda was moving through the Lawalong route. Acting on this tip-off, the team launched an intensive vehicle-checking drive near Kolkole village. During the operation, a vehicle approaching from the Bhusad side failed to stop when signaled. The driver attempted to flee, but the police gave chase and intercepted the vehicle near Sohawan village.

Escape and Seizure

Taking advantage of the dense jungle, the driver abandoned the vehicle and escaped into the forest. Upon searching the vehicle, police recovered eight sacks containing around 170 kilograms of illegal doda. The vehicle has been seized, and an FIR has been registered at Lawalong police station. Further investigation is underway to trace the driver and uncover the network involved in the illegal trade.
