Education Minister Rajmohan Slams AIADMK Over Water Remarks, Cites Science
Rajmohan Hits Back at AIADMK on Water Issue, Cites Science

Madurai: Education minister Rajmohan on Sunday hit back at AIADMK leader R B Udhayakumar over his remarks on chief minister Vijay’s meeting with the Prime Minister, saying water issues should be viewed through science and not politics.

Responding to Udhayakumar’s charge that Vijay did not speak about Mekedatu or the industrial corridor, Rajmohan said rainfall had been affected by Super El Nino. “This is science. Just as he knows politics, he should also know science,” he said.

Rajmohan said people in both states had understood the situation that water level in reservoirs has dropped. Asked how the state govt aims to compete with private schools with several teacher vacancies, he said the govt would act through Teachers Recruitment Board. “I will speak to TRB in a proper manner and fill the vacancies as quickly as possible. Some issues are in court. They can be handled only legally,” he said.

Mental health, infrastructure, food quality, model schools, successful schools, using alumni themselves as ambassadors were discussed,” he said.

Rajmohan said the renovation of Gandhi Museum in Madurai and other cultural institutions inspected by him would be completed soon.
