The district administration, in coordination with the Pollution Control Board, sealed six factories and slag-processing units in the Sandhavali-Sujadu industrial area of Muzaffarnagar after discovering they were operating without proper documentation. Officials stated that they had received repeated complaints regarding pollution and environmental violations in the industrial zone.
Authorities Take Action Against Illegal Units
Kunwar Santosh Kumar, assistant environment engineer, said, “The units were operating without permission and the required licences. Further legal action is being taken in the matter.” He added that several operators and workers fled the area upon spotting the enforcement team on Tuesday.
Continued Crackdown on Polluting Industries
City magistrate Pankaj Prakash Rathore emphasized that the drive against units contributing to pollution will persist, with teams from the administration and pollution department actively working on it.
This enforcement action underscores the authorities' commitment to curbing environmental violations and ensuring industrial compliance with legal standards. The sealed units will face legal proceedings, and further inspections are planned to identify other non-compliant facilities in the region.
