Six Injured in Udupi Car Crash into Coconut Tree

Udupi: Six persons, including minors, sustained injuries after a car lost control and rammed a coconut tree near Moodalkatte in Udupi taluk on Sunday.

Incident Details

Mohammad Maheen, 18, a resident of Uchila in Muloor village, filed a complaint stating that he was traveling with his relatives Matseya Banu, 22, Ayesha Naz, 12, Mannat Fatima, 3, and Muskan M, 12, in a car from Hoode Beach in Paduthonse village towards a relative's house.

At 9:45 pm, near Moodalkatte, the driver of the car, identified as Mohammad Faraz, allegedly drove in a rash and negligent manner, causing the vehicle to veer to the extreme left side of the road and crash into a coconut tree.

Injuries and Rescue

As a result of the impact, Maheen, Mannat Fatima, Matseya Banu, Muskan M, Ayesha Naz, and driver Mohammad Faraz sustained injuries. With the help of locals, the injured were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Legal Action

Based on the complaint, Malpe police registered a case under Sections 281 and 125(a) of the BNS (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita). The driver faces charges of rash driving and endangering lives. Further investigation is underway.
