CHENNAI: Southern Railway has announced changes in late-night suburban EMU services in Chennai on June 5 owing to engineering work between Kodambakkam and St Thomas Mount stations. Railways said line block and power block would be carried out from 11.05pm on June 5 to 3.05am on June 6, resulting in cancellation and partial cancellation of services.
Services Affected
The Chennai Beach–Tambaram EMU locals departing Chennai Beach at 11.40pm and 11.59pm will be completely cancelled. Additionally, two late-night services from Guduvancheri and Chengalpet to Chennai Beach will be partially cancelled.
Engineering Work Details
The engineering work necessitates a line block and power block between Kodambakkam and St Thomas Mount stations. This maintenance activity is scheduled to minimize disruption, but it impacts the late-night schedule significantly.
Passengers are advised to check alternative arrangements and plan their travel accordingly. The railway authorities apologize for the inconvenience caused due to this essential maintenance work.
