Patna: Three girls sustained injuries after the son of a lodge owner attacked them with a knife following a dispute over rent. The incident occurred on Friday at a lodge in the Musallahpur Haat locality under the Pirbahore police station area. The victims were immediately admitted to the Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH), where their condition is reported to be out of danger. The accused was arrested on the spot.
Details of the Incident
The girls had an argument with the lodge owner's wife, which enraged her son, leading to the attack. Town SDPO-1 Rajesh Ranjan stated, 'Initial probe shows there was a dispute between students and the lodge owner's wife over room rent. During the argument, her son Chris arrived and attacked the students in anger.'
Sequence of Events
According to the police, the lodge belongs to Neeraj Kumar. His son Chris suddenly became enraged after seeing his mother quarrelling with the girls staying at the lodge and attacked them with a vegetable knife. The girls screamed and ran to save themselves. Locals immediately informed the police.
Medical Response and Investigation
The injured students were taken to PMCH with the help of locals and police. All of them sustained minor injuries and are out of danger. The incident has left students in the area scared and angry.
'The accused has been arrested and legal action is being taken. Police are questioning other students at the lodge to find out the full truth. They are also probing if the attack was preplanned or done in sudden anger,' the SDPO-1 added.
