Four-Pronged Strategy
Subbarayudu elaborated that a series of awareness programs will be conducted at schools, colleges, and universities across the district to sensitize students about the ill effects of ganja usage. The district police wing has stepped up surveillance on ganja smuggling and has booked 16 repeated offenders under the Preventive Detention (PD) Act.
Distribution of Testing Kits
The SP distributed ganja testing kits to police personnel on Friday. He warned that people who test positive for ganja usage will come under the police radar. The initiative aims to create a drug-free environment in the district, which attracts millions of pilgrims annually.
- Awareness campaigns in educational institutions
- Enhanced surveillance on smuggling routes
- Strict legal action against repeat offenders under PD Act
- Regular testing and monitoring of suspected individuals
The police have urged the public to cooperate and report any suspicious activities related to ganja. This comprehensive approach underscores the commitment to maintaining law and order in the region.
