Trichy: Celebrating 12 years of growth and transformation in the civil aviation sector, Trichy International Airport will organize a series of passenger-centric and community outreach activities on June 15, as part of the pan-India ‘Yatri Suvidha Diwas 2026’.
Activities Planned
The activities include a cleanliness drive involving AAI employees and stakeholders, blood donation camps in association with government hospitals, airport familiarization and career guidance sessions for college students, and educational visits and engagement activities for school students at the airport.
“We have planned live airport rescue and firefighting (ARFF) demonstrations and interactive sessions for students and visitors. Tree plantation drives promoting environmental sustainability and green airport initiatives are being taken up on our campus,” airport director SS Raju told reporters on Saturday.
Passenger Engagement
Passengers arriving at the airport on June 15 (Monday) will be welcomed with a traditional reception. To reach out to young passengers about the airport’s growth, flash mob performances are planned too.
Theme and Investment
Raju said that the theme of the event will be ‘Passenger First – Safe, Seamless, Comfortable and Sustainable Air Travel.’ He added that AAI at Trichy airport has invested capital expenditure (CAPEX) of Rs 1,481.7 crore over the last 12 years to modernize and expand the airport.
