In a pioneering initiative, the Trichy district police conducted an attendance parade for 364 history-sheeters at the district armed reserve police ground on Sunday. The event aimed to deter habitual offenders from criminal activities and encourage them to lead a responsible life. Senior officials addressed the offenders, emphasizing the importance of family and lawful conduct.
Superintendent's Address and Warnings
Superintendent of Police S Selvanagarathinam inspected the assembly around noon and addressed the offenders sub-division wise. He advised them to reform their behavior, stay away from criminal activities, and focus on their families and children. He warned that strict legal action would be taken against anyone who gets involved in criminal activities in the future. The Superintendent's message was clear: the police would not tolerate any further offenses.
First-of-Its-Kind Parade in Trichy
Police officials stated that such parades would be conducted regularly to bring positive change among habitual offenders. The history-sheeters attendance parade is the first of its kind to be held in Trichy district, a police officer said. This innovative approach aims to create a sense of accountability and deterrence among those with a criminal record.
The parade also served as a platform for police to interact with the offenders and understand their concerns. Officials hope that regular monitoring and counseling will help reintegrate these individuals into society as law-abiding citizens. The Trichy police remain committed to reducing crime through proactive measures.
