A devastating fire broke out at a resto-pub in Mysuru, Karnataka, on Monday evening, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and leaving seven others seriously injured, according to officials.
Victims Identified
The deceased have been identified as Sahil and Prakash, both of whom were charred to death in the incident. The fire occurred at a premium two-storey resto-pub located near Netaji Circle in the Dattagalli area of the city.
Suspected Cause
Officials suspect that a short circuit may have triggered the blaze. Fire department personnel responded promptly to the scene and managed to bring the fire under control.
Rescue and Injuries
According to fire officials, over 25 people were present inside the pub when the fire erupted. Emergency services rescued seven individuals from the building. Some patrons, alarmed by thick smoke, attempted to escape by jumping from the upper floor, resulting in serious injuries.
The seven injured individuals have been admitted to Suyog and Apollo hospitals for medical treatment, as confirmed by a senior fire official.
Investigation Underway
Police visited the site and conducted an inspection. An investigation into the exact cause of the fire is ongoing. The incident highlights concerns over fire safety measures in commercial establishments.
