Two UP Natives Held with Stolen Cloth Worth Rs 95,000

Ahmedabad: Two natives of Uttar Pradesh were arrested by the Danilimda police after they were caught with stolen hosiery cloth valued at Rs 95,000, which was loaded onto a single scooter. Acting on a tip-off, a surveillance team from the Danilimda police patrolled the area near Cozy Hotel on Friday night and intercepted the suspects.

Details of the Arrest

Police identified the accused as a 24-year-old man, a resident of Vatva originally from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, and a 20-year-old man, a resident of Ajit Park originally from Jaunpur district, Uttar Pradesh. The officers seized six bundles of hosiery cloth pieces of different designs from them.

Scooter Without Number Plate

The police reported that the accused were traveling on a two-wheeler which did not have a number plate. This raised suspicion and led to their interception. The stolen goods were neatly stacked on the scooter, indicating a planned theft.

The accused have been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and are currently in judicial custody. Further investigation is underway to determine if they were part of a larger theft ring operating in the city.
