Navi Mumbai: Two youths were killed in a bike collision at around 1 am on Sunday. The accident was reported on Panvel-Karjat Road. The victims were identified as Siddharth Jadhav, 31, a resident of Neral, and Sujit Borade, 26, a resident of Bhise gaon.
Jadhav was riding towards Karjat from Chowk (Panvel side). Borade was riding in the opposite direction. The two speeding bikers crashed into each other after losing control. The Chowk police outpost, led by Sub-Inspector Vishal Pawar, rushed the duo to the government rural hospital. However, the doctors declared them dead.
Police are probing further into the accident after lodging a case at Khalapur police station. Locals demanded road medians on the remaining stretches wherever not constructed.
