Lucknow: A video showing an elderly man carrying his ailing wife on a handcart after they were allegedly refused treatment at the district hospital in Bareilly has sparked outrage. The incident prompted Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak to order an inquiry on Monday.

Order for Investigation

Pathak directed the Director General of Health Services to send a senior officer to investigate the matter and take strict action against those found negligent. He emphasized that negligence in patient care would not be tolerated.

Government's Commitment to Healthcare

“Providing treatment to the poor and needy is the government’s top priority. Every citizen deserves proper and respectful healthcare services,” Pathak stated. The inquiry aims to ensure accountability and prevent such incidents in the future.
