A 40-year-old woman from Sasnamoddi in Cacora, who had accidentally fallen into a well, was rescued by local residents and fire brigade personnel on Thursday. The incident took place in the afternoon, prompting immediate action from the community and emergency services. The woman was subsequently taken to the Cacora primary health centre, where medical officials confirmed that she is out of danger and recovering well.
Rescue Operation Details
Station fire officer Damodar Zambaulikar provided details of the rescue operation. He stated that by the time the fire brigade arrived at the scene, a local resident had already entered the well in an attempt to save the woman. However, the rescuer was struggling, clinging to a rope and on the verge of drowning. Two off-duty fire personnel, who had reached the spot ahead of the fire vehicle, immediately climbed into the well to assist both individuals. They were later joined by two on-duty personnel. Together, the team managed to pull both the woman and the local rescuer to safety.
