Gorakhpur: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday evening inspected the ongoing two-lane and four-lane road widening project from HN Singh Chowk to Jagesar Pasi Chauraha via Hadhwa Phatak at four different locations in the city. The project aims to enhance connectivity and ease traffic congestion in the region.
CM Directs Expedited Work with Minimal Disruption
During the inspection, the Chief Minister directed officials to expedite the work while ensuring that public movement remains unaffected during construction. He emphasized that the road widening should be carried out in a planned manner so that traffic flow continues smoothly. Officials of the executing agency informed him that the project is likely to be completed within a month.
Focus on Drainage and Public Convenience
Yogi also instructed authorities to prioritize public convenience and ensure proper drainage arrangements to prevent waterlogging on the road and in adjoining localities. He stressed that proper drainage is essential to avoid inconvenience to residents during the monsoon season.
Safety Measures at Construction Sites
Emphasizing public safety, the CM instructed officials not to leave drains open at any point and to install safety barricades at all construction sites. He directed that all necessary precautions be taken to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of pedestrians and motorists.
The inspection underscores the state government's commitment to improving urban infrastructure and ensuring timely completion of development projects. The road widening project is expected to significantly reduce travel time and improve connectivity in Gorakhpur city.
