The three-day state-level gathering of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) concluded in Dhubri on Friday, charting a decisive course for its student activists. The conclave passed significant resolutions aimed at national security, educational reform, and economic self-reliance.
Key Resolutions from the Dhubri Conclave
The assembly arrived at three primary resolutions. Firstly, it pledged to work towards stopping infiltration from Bangladesh, highlighting it as a critical issue for Assam and the nation. Secondly, delegates resolved to mount pressure on the government for the full implementation of the New Education Policy (NEP). The third major resolution encouraged students to embrace a Swadeshi (indigenous) way of life to contribute to building a self-reliant India.
Inauguration and Dignitaries
The 31st state conclave of the ABVP commenced on Wednesday at the Padmashri Pratima Barua Kshetra Auditorium in Dhubri. The inaugural ceremony saw Dhubri district's guardian minister, Ranjeet Kumar Dass, as the chief guest. Minister Dass appealed to the youth and students to actively participate in nation-building and become partners in realizing the vision of a self-sufficient India.
The event was also attended by ABVP national president Aditya Takia and Assam president Ritamoni Baishya, who graced the occasion with their presence.
Massive Participation Marks the Event
The conclave witnessed robust participation from across the state. Over 500 delegates from various parts of Assam attended the discussions and sessions over the three days. Furthermore, the event spilled onto the streets of Dhubri town on Thursday with a vibrant cultural procession that saw participation from nearly 1500 students, showcasing the organization's reach and mobilizing power.
The conclave has set a clear agenda for its members, focusing on activism around border security, educational transformation, and promoting indigenous products and practices as a pathway to national strength.
