Akhilesh Yadav says limited funds, not I-PAC's performance, led to split
Akhilesh: Limited funds, not I-PAC performance, led to split

Lucknow: Dismissing claims that the Samajwadi Party (SP) dropped poll strategy firm I-PAC because it designed the Trinamool Congress (TMC) campaign that lost the West Bengal elections, party chief Akhilesh Yadav said he was not hiring the firm due to the party's limited funds.

Limited Funds Cited as Reason

“We have limited funds. We are not getting any funds now as the channels have been blocked,” Yadav said while dismissing reports that the poll campaign curators were dropped because of the poor performance of their clients TMC and DMK. “We are unable to work together because we don’t have the funds (to hire them),” he said when asked to clarify the position again.

Suggestions from Well-Wishers

The SP chief said that “party’s well-wishers” had suggested a host of Indian and international firms which the SP should hire to design its election campaign. In a lighter vein, he said he does not have the funds to hire big companies but can assure to spend on them 90% of the total budget of the information department on them if SP forms the next government in Uttar Pradesh.
