Akhilesh Yadav Slams BJP Over Women's Reservation Bill Implementation
Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party during a meeting in Lucknow on Wednesday, accusing the ruling party of "deceiving democracy" by misleading the public about the Women's Reservation Bill. The SP chief emphasized that the landmark legislation was unanimously passed by Parliament in 2023, yet BJP leaders continue to spread misinformation about its status and implementation.
Allegations of Propaganda and Diversion Tactics
"The Women's Reservation Bill was unanimously passed by Parliament in 2023. Still, the BJP leaders are misleading the people by spreading lies about it," Yadav stated forcefully. He alleged that the BJP is creating deliberate propaganda to divert public attention from critical issues plaguing the nation, including corruption, economic loot, inflation, and unemployment.
Addressing former candidates and party functionaries from constituencies reserved for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, Yadav warned that by spreading false information about the bill, the BJP is not just misleading citizens but fundamentally undermining democratic processes. He called upon his party members to remain vigilant against what he described as "BJP's conspiracies" designed to confuse voters.
Characterizing BJP as "Organized Gang"
In some of his strongest remarks, Yadav characterized the BJP as operating like an "organized gang" with a singular agenda of spreading hatred to divide society. He claimed this divisive strategy has become the party's favorite pre-election pastime, employed whenever they face mounting public discontent.
"People no longer have confidence in the BJP. Even the BJP brass is aware of it," Yadav asserted. "With nothing to showcase in terms of achievements on the development front, the BJP is going back to what it does best — create confusion and mislead people."
Strategic Focus on 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections
The SP president outlined a cautious strategy for the upcoming 2027 Assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh, emphasizing there is no room for errors in their approach. "We have to be very careful with how we go about the 2027 Assembly polls in the state. There is no room for mistakes," he cautioned.
Yadav expressed confidence that the BJP government's defeat is assured in the Assembly polls early next year, claiming that citizens are thoroughly disillusioned with the current administration. He underlined the critical need to strengthen the party's booth-level organizational structures, noting that elections must be fought on the ground with no complacency among party workers.
Mobilizing Party Cadre and Leadership Presence
Urging the Samajwadi Party cadre to roll up their sleeves for the electoral battle ahead, Yadav declared it time for the party's foot soldiers to hit the ground running. The meeting saw significant party leadership in attendance, including SP national secretary Rajendra Chaudhary, state president Shyam Lal Pal, and Samajwadi Mahila Sabha national president Seema Rajbhar.
Concluding his address, Yadav reiterated the Samajwadi Party's unwavering commitment to ensuring social justice and the upliftment of the PDA (Pichhda, Dalit, Alpsankhyak) community. He positioned this commitment as a core alternative to what he described as the BJP's divisive politics, framing the upcoming electoral contest as a battle between inclusive development and divisive propaganda.
