Akhilesh Yadav Slams BJP's Deceit, EC Inaction on Vote Deletion

Akhilesh Yadav Denounces BJP's Deceitful Politics and EC's Inaction

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday, asserting that its political character is fundamentally anti-people and laced with deceit. Speaking at the party headquarters in Lucknow, the former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh made serious allegations regarding electoral malpractices and governance failures under the current state administration.

Allegations of Electoral Fraud and EC Criticism

Akhilesh Yadav claimed that during the recent Summary Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls, forged signatures were used extensively to facilitate the deletion of valid votes. He expressed deep frustration over the Election Commission of India's (ECI) response, stating that despite the Samajwadi Party providing concrete evidence of this conspiracy, no investigation has been initiated to identify the perpetrators.

"The Election Commission's primary duty and responsibility is to ensure that votes are added and protected, not deleted through fraudulent means," Akhilesh emphasized. "Why is the EC dormant on this critical issue?" he questioned, pointing fingers at the electoral body's perceived inaction in the episode.

Warning of BJP Conspiracies Ahead of UP Elections

The SP leader issued a stark warning to his cadre and the public, urging vigilance against BJP's alleged conspiracies. He predicted that once the elections in West Bengal conclude, the BJP's focus will shift entirely to Uttar Pradesh, where they will hatch plots to target opposition parties.

"Beware of BJP's conspiracies. For the 2027 assembly polls, we must be even more careful than we were during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections," Akhilesh cautioned. He expressed confidence that the people are prepared for a change in government, desiring a Samajwadi Party-led administration. "We must remain united and work with extreme caution and attention to counter these threats," he added.

Criticism of State Governance and Infrastructure Projects

Taking a sharp jibe at the BJP state government, Akhilesh Yadav ridiculed its recent announcement of a drive to tackle traffic bottlenecks in major cities. He accused the government of making empty promises that yield no tangible improvements on the ground.

"This government consistently hoodwinks people with grand announcements. In the name of Smart Cities, they have delivered collapsed traffic management and routine jams, even in the state capital," he stated.

Specifically targeting the Green Corridor project in Lucknow, Akhilesh revealed that the government spent Rs 700 crore on it, but the design is fundamentally faulty. "Police have to be deployed at every intersection because the project has many loose ends. They merely connected existing roads with patches of elevated stretches, offering no real solution," he explained.

Power Sector Woes and SP's Development Legacy

Akhilesh Yadav also highlighted severe issues in the power department, where consumers face harassment due to anomalies in monthly bills caused by smart meters. He contrasted this with the development projects initiated during his tenure as Chief Minister.

Proudly recalling the Lucknow-Agra Expressway, he noted it was the first-of-its-kind project that introduced the concept of expressways to Uttar Pradesh. "The quality of this project was certified when fighter jets touched down on the expressway, making it world-class," Akhilesh remarked, underscoring the Samajwadi Party's commitment to genuine development.

In summary, Akhilesh Yadav's address combined allegations of electoral deceit, warnings of political conspiracies, and critiques of governance failures, positioning the Samajwadi Party as a vigilant alternative ahead of future elections in Uttar Pradesh.
