Vijayawada: Asserting that the capital city Amaravati will become a truly global city, HRD and IT minister Nara Lokesh has said that project works have gained full momentum. He stated that the works were unstoppable despite the rains in the regions.

“It must be sad news for the troll masters, who have been waiting to capture the pictures of flooding in Amaravati. Sorry, bro, there is no water in Amaravati. Works were not stopped anywhere in the capital city,” said Lokesh in a social media post targeting the opposition YSRCP activists.

He shared a video showcasing the ongoing development works in Amaravati, highlighting the progress of the capital city project. He expressed full confidence that the city would emerge as a world-class capital of Andhra Pradesh. Lokesh said Amaravati was moving ahead with a clear vision and modern infrastructure. Various works have reached their final stages, while a few others have gained momentum. The pace of Amaravati reflects the government’s focus on creating a future-ready city with advanced facilities.

Vision for a Global City

Lokesh said the development of Amaravati was not merely about constructing buildings but about creating an ecosystem that would support governance, technology, innovation and economic growth. He emphasised that the capital city was being planned with modern infrastructure, sustainable development and global standards in mind.

The minister highlighted that several key infrastructure works were progressing rapidly, including underground utility systems, roads and other urban infrastructure facilities. Such projects would improve reliability, safety and the overall appearance of the capital city.

Major Infrastructure Projects Underway

Several major infrastructure projects are being undertaken as part of the development plan, including government buildings, housing projects, and connectivity infrastructure. Lokesh said Amaravati was being developed as a people-centric capital and would provide better opportunities for future generations.

He projected the works on the secretariat building blocks, IAS officers’ bungalows, judges’ bungalows, and gazetted officers’ quarters in the capital city. He also explained the progress of various infrastructure works in the region, including roads, bridges, culverts, tanks, and electricity works.

Lokesh assured that Amaravati was a symbol of the aspirations of the people of Andhra Pradesh and would continue to progress towards becoming a landmark city.
