In a fiery address at a public gathering in Aranthangi, Pudukottai district, former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president K Annamalai launched a scathing critique against the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government on Thursday. He stated that the number of beneficiaries receiving the annual 6,000 rupees assistance in Pudukottai had plummeted from 1.37 lakh before 2021 to a mere 83,000 after the DMK assumed power. Annamalai vowed that an AIADMK-led government would promptly reinstate these critical benefits, ensuring that the intended recipients receive the support they are entitled to under central schemes.
