From RSS Activist to Cabinet Minister: Sanjay Singh Tiger's Political Ascent
In a significant political development, newly elected Ara BJP MLA Sanjay Singh Tiger has been awarded a ministerial berth in the freshly formed Nitish Kumar-led NDA government in Bihar. This appointment marks the culmination of a long political journey that began during his student days at A N College in Patna.
A Storied Political Career
Sanjay Singh Tiger, born in 1974 at Amrai village under Bihiya block of Bhojpur district, has been actively involved with the RSS and social activism since his post-graduation days. The bachelor politician is widely recognized for his exceptional eloquence and oratorical skills, which eventually earned him the position of BJP state spokesperson.
His political credentials were firmly established back in 2010 when he represented the Sandesh assembly constituency as a BJP candidate, defeating then incumbent MLA RJD veteran Vijendra Yadav. Notably, Vijendra Yadav is the elder brother of former Sandesh MLA Arun Yadav.
Record Victory and Political Legacy
In the recent elections, Sanjay Tiger achieved the highest victory margin among the seven successful NDA candidates from Bhojpur district, defeating Quyamuddin Ansari of the CPI(ML) by an impressive 19,581 votes. This landslide victory underscores his significant popularity and political influence in the region.
Politics runs deep in the Tiger family. His elder brother, Dharmpal Singh, served as a two-time Janata Dal MLA from 1990 to 2000, representing the Shahpur assembly constituency of Bhojpur district.
Simplicity Amidst Political Pedigree
Despite hailing from a well-off family with substantial political connections, Sanjay Tiger is known for maintaining remarkable simplicity and unwavering dedication to his party. A BJP office-bearer commented on Thursday, "He very actively participates in all the agitations and campaigns of the party in the district."
The political circles in Bihar believe that Tiger's induction into the NDA ministry will significantly expedite the execution of various development schemes announced by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for Bhojpur district during his Pragati Yatra. This appointment is expected to bring renewed focus on development initiatives in the region and strengthen the BJP's presence in this crucial district.
