Kummanam Rajasekharan, representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), brings significant symbolic weight to the race. As one of the most visible leaders during the airport agitation, his candidacy directly taps into Aranmula's history of popular mobilization. The BJP has designated Aranmula as an 'A class' priority constituency, though the party took considerable time finalizing Rajasekharan's nomination after evaluating other potential candidates.
His clean public image has injected fresh enthusiasm into the local BJP cadre. However, the critical question remains whether this momentum can be effectively translated into votes across Aranmula's vast geographical area. The party's electoral performance here has been volatile, with vote shares swinging dramatically from 10,227 in 2011 to a peak of 37,906 in 2016, then declining to 21,099 in 2021. The 2019 Lok Sabha elections provided a glimmer of hope when K Surendran secured 50,497 votes from this segment, keeping BJP aspirations alive.
Veena George of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) is aiming for a remarkable hat-trick of victories in Aranmula. Having transitioned from journalism to politics, George has risen rapidly through the Left Democratic Front (LDF) ranks. Her consecutive wins in this constituency, which isn't traditionally a Left stronghold, represent a significant political achievement. This time, she contests not just as a sitting legislator but as the incumbent Health Minister, a position that presents both advantages and vulnerabilities.

Abin Varkey, the Congress candidate, represents the United Democratic Front (UDF) as a young, first-time contender. A Kozhencherry native and national secretary of the Youth Congress, Varkey has spent nearly a decade defending his party on public platforms.
