Chatra: The Lawalong police station has arrested one Heera Munda in connection with the murder of Guddu Munda, whose body was discovered on May 22 after he had been reported missing on March 30. The body was concealed beneath the soil in a forested area located between Mandhaniya and Hahe villages.
Arrest and Recovery
Officer in-charge of the local police station, Chandan Kumar, stated on Wednesday that the arrest was made on Tuesday. “Heera hails from Tungun village,” he said, adding that the police have also recovered the murder weapon based on the confessional statement of another key accused, Rakesh Munda, who surrendered in court last week. Following the surrender, police took Rakesh into remand for questioning, the officer in charge confirmed.
Motive Behind the Murder
Police investigation has revealed that Rakesh was allegedly upset over Guddu’s illicit relationship with the former’s mother. This motive appears to have driven the fatal attack. The authorities are continuing their probe to establish further details of the case.
