Assam Minister Dass Expresses Confidence in BJP's Victory in Golokganj Constituency

Assam's Panchayat and Rural Development Minister, Ranjeet Kumar Dass, delivered a spirited address at a poll rally in Nabasudrapara, Gauripur town, Dhubri district, asserting that the victory of BJP candidate Ashwani Roy Sarkar from the Golokganj assembly constituency is more than assured. Despite this confidence, Dass emphasized his active campaigning efforts, stating, "But still, I have come to campaign for him because I want him to win with over 1,30,000 votes."

Direct Fight with AIUDF and Strategic Importance of Golokganj

Dass highlighted that the election features a direct contest with the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF), but he dismissed the opposition's chances, remarking, "I know there is a direct fight with AIUDF, and by no means can the party form the govt in Dispur." He urged voters across all castes, creeds, and religions to support the BJP, questioning why they would misuse their votes on a losing candidate.

Emphasizing the constituency's significance, Dass noted that Golokganj holds strategic importance due to its location, sharing both international and inter-state borders, which impacts security and development initiatives. He expressed confidence that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would form the next government, as it "lives in the hearts of the people."

Post-Election Development Promises and Campaign Strategy

Outlining post-election plans, Dass assured that upon government formation, 10 lakh additional PMAY houses would be added to the existing 40 lakh, as announced by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Specifically for Golokganj, he promised to bring 10,000 houses under this scheme. He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and CM Sarma as "messiahs for the poverty-stricken people," citing their efforts in providing houses, electric connections, LPG, and drinking water.

The BJP's campaign strategy leverages the recent delimitation of the constituency, which included 10 wards of the Gauripur Municipal Board out of 13 in the No. 6 Golokganj constituency, encompassing 21,000 voters. The total voter count in the Legislative Assembly Constituency (LAC) stands at 2,04,365. Other candidates in the fray include Jamsher Talukdar from AIUDF and Kartik Ray from Congress.

The rally was also addressed by former Gauripur legislator Bonedra Mushahary, BJP candidate Ashwani Roy Sarkar, and other party leaders, reinforcing the party's focus on grassroots mobilization and development-oriented governance.
