Bahraich's Bale Miyan Fair Cancelled Again; Religious Rituals Only
Bale Miyan Fair Cancelled; Only Religious Rituals Allowed

The Bale Miyan fair, held annually in honour of Syed Salar Masud Ghazi in Bahraich, will not be conducted this year as well, following the directives of the high court. Officials have confirmed that only religious rituals will be permitted, while all commercial fair activities and related events will remain strictly prohibited.

District Magistrate Confirms Compliance

District Magistrate Akshay Tripathi informed TOI that the event would be organised in accordance with the high court’s instructions, mirroring the approach taken last year. “Only religious rituals will be allowed, and no commercial fair or associated activities will be permitted, just as was the case last year. The organisers have also sought permission in line with the high court order issued last year,” he stated.

Vijayotsav to Replace the Fair

In place of the Bale Miyan fair, a three-day Vijayotsav programme dedicated to the warrior king Maharaja Suheldev will be held at Chittaura Lake. This event is being organised under the supervision of the Maharaja Suheldev Seva Samiti and will take place near the Maharaja Suheldev Memorial.

Significance of the Dargah

The dargah of Syed Salar Masud Ghazi attracts lakhs of devotees every year. Despite the cancellation of the fair, the religious significance of the site remains unchanged, and pilgrims can still participate in the permitted religious rituals.
