Barnala Police to Review FIRs Against Congress Workers After Hunger Strike
Barnala Police Review FIRs After Congress Workers Hunger Strike

Bathinda: The Barnala police have agreed to review FIRs registered against Congress workers after MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhillon and his supporters staged a hunger strike at the district administrative complex.

Earlier on May 14, the police had booked several party workers for blocking a road during a protest to demand cash incentives for women. MLA Dhillon said that they have every right to hold protests, and police could not file an FIR for it. "We have asked the police to cancel the FIRs. They have assured us that it will be done in a few days. So we lifted the protest," he said.

Barnala Senior Superintendent of Police Sarfaraz Alam, speaking to TOI, said, "A SIT led by Barnala DSP has been formed and has been asked to look into the CCTV footage and other details in a time-bound manner. Police is bound to provide justice to everyone."
