According to Sahebpurkamal Station House Officer Sintu Kumar, the victim, identified as Amrit Kumar, also known as Prince, was a resident of ward number 9 under Raghunathpur panchayat in the Sahebpurkamal police station area. He was traveling towards Hira Tol Zero Mile on National Highway 333B when the accident unfolded.
The SHO elaborated: "A speeding SUV, moving in the same direction, violently rammed into the rear of his motorcycle. The impact was so severe that Amrit was thrown onto the road, while his bike became trapped under the SUV. The driver managed to free the motorcycle and attempted to flee the scene with the vehicle. However, vigilant locals swiftly intervened, chasing down the driver and apprehending him before handing him over to the police. The SUV has since been seized as part of the ongoing investigation."
Family's Heartbreak and Wedding Plans Shattered
Amrit's father, Pankaj Yadav, shared the family's profound grief, revealing that his son's wedding was scheduled for February 20. The 'tilak' ceremony had already been conducted a few days prior, and wedding invitation cards had been distributed to relatives and friends.
Pankaj Yadav expressed his anguish: "We had invited everyone for the celebration, and even on Saturday night, Amrit had gone out to distribute more wedding cards. But destiny cruelly snatched him away from us. Our entire family was eagerly preparing for this joyous occasion. I am utterly shattered by this loss."
Amrit was the elder of two brothers, and his marriage had been arranged with a young woman from Maharra village in the neighboring Munger district. Pankaj added: "The girl's family is equally devastated. They are struggling to come to terms with this unimaginable tragedy, just as we are."
