Belagavi District Observes 135th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar with Grand Celebrations
On Tuesday, the 135th birth anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar was commemorated in a grand and vibrant manner across Belagavi district, including the city of Belagavi. The celebrations were organized through a collaborative effort involving the Belagavi District Administration, the Belagavi City Corporation (BCC), and various Dalit organizations, ensuring widespread participation and reverence for the architect of the Indian Constitution.
Inauguration by Minister Satish Jarkiholi at Ambedkar Garden
District Minister Satish Jarkiholi inaugurated the Jayanti celebrations at Ambedkar Garden, setting the tone for a day filled with tributes and reflections. During his inaugural address, Minister Jarkiholi emphasized the foundational role of the Constitution and democracy in India. He stated that the Constitution not only upholds the sovereignty of the nation but also guarantees equality and the upliftment of all castes and communities. He highlighted that the Constitution serves as a primary motivation for minorities, backward classes, and Dalits to integrate into the mainstream of society, reinforcing its enduring relevance and power.
Grand Evening Procession from Ambedkar Circle to Ambedkar Garden
In the evening, a grand procession was held, marching from Ambedkar Circle to Ambedkar Garden. The parade was marked by the presence of still images and play cards that introduced various government schemes from different departments, alongside boards proclaiming the ideologies and teachings of Babasaheb Ambedkar. This visual display aimed to educate and inspire attendees about both governmental initiatives and Ambedkar's vision for social justice and equality.
Robust Security Arrangements and Distinguished Participants
To ensure the safety and smooth conduct of the events, police made tight security arrangements across the city. The celebrations saw the participation of several dignitaries and officials, including MLA Asif Sait, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Roshan, ZP CEO Rahul Shinde, Belagavi City Police Commissioner Bhushan Borase, and representatives from various departments.
