Referring to the recent collapse of gate No. 22 at the Hipparagi barrage, Jarkiholi expressed concern over the estimated loss of 2.5 to 3.5 Tmcft of water. This incident has exacerbated water scarcity issues, prompting Karnataka representatives to plan a visit to Maharashtra. The delegation aims to seek additional water releases to mitigate the emerging crisis, highlighting the interstate cooperation needed to address water management challenges in the area.
