Tragic Night in Bengaluru: Young Man Dies in Collision with Yulu Bike Rider
A devastating road accident in Bengaluru has claimed the life of a 22-year-old man from Kerala. The incident occurred late Wednesday night on Suranjan Das Road, within the HAL traffic police limits, when the victim collided with a food-delivery agent riding a Yulu bike.
Details of the Fatal Collision
The victim has been identified as Stephen George Binu, a resident of Basavanagar and an employee of a private company. According to police reports, Binu was returning home on his motorcycle around 10:30 PM when the tragedy unfolded.
An investigating officer provided a detailed account of the sequence of events. "The Yulu rider, Mohammed Anwar, aged 37, was initially on the pavement opposite the aerospace office. He suddenly entered the road, headed towards a median opening, and crossed to the other side. A car traveling in the opposite direction braked abruptly upon seeing Anwar. Binu, who was riding parallel to that car, failed to notice the Yulu bike in time and collided with it," the officer explained.
Despite wearing a helmet, Stephen George Binu sustained severe chest injuries after hitting the pavement. He was pronounced dead shortly after. Meanwhile, Mohammed Anwar, the food-delivery agent, is currently recovering from his injuries at Victoria Hospital.
Separate Incident: Student Injured in Bus Mishap
In an unrelated but equally distressing event in Tumakuru, a 17-year-old paramedical student named Harishta suffered a leg fracture. The injury occurred at the Tumakuru bus terminal when she attempted to reserve a seat on a moving KSRTC bus by placing her bag through a window.
Police confirmed that Harishta fell during the attempt, and one of her legs was fractured after it went under the wheels of the bus. This incident highlights the dangers associated with unsafe practices at bus terminals and serves as a cautionary tale for passengers.
