A shocking case of murder has come to light in Bengaluru, where a woman and her lover were arrested for allegedly killing her husband and burying his body near a lake. The deceased, identified as 25-year-old Abhijit Pandit, a native of West Bengal, was working as a security guard in the city.
According to police, Abhijit Pandit got married to 21-year-old Archana Chauhan three years ago after they fell in love. However, their relationship turned sour over time, leading to frequent arguments. Archana allegedly developed an extramarital relationship with a man named Ravi, and the two conspired to murder Abhijit.
On the night of the incident, Archana called her husband to a secluded spot near a lake under the pretext of a meeting. Ravi was already waiting there, and together they attacked Abhijit with a sharp weapon, killing him instantly. They then buried his body in a shallow grave near the lake to hide the evidence.
When Abhijit did not return home, his family filed a missing person complaint with the local police. During the investigation, the police grew suspicious of Archana's behavior and interrogated her. She eventually broke down and confessed to the crime, implicating Ravi as well. Both were arrested and are currently in police custody.
The body was exhumed from the burial site and sent for post-mortem examination. The police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including murder and conspiracy. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact motive behind the crime.
This incident has once again highlighted the growing trend of crimes stemming from extramarital affairs in urban areas. The police have urged the public to resolve disputes amicably and seek professional help if needed, rather than resorting to violence.
