Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana, Bhatti Vikramarka, on Tuesday expressed strong confidence that the DMK-Congress alliance would return to power in Tamil Nadu with a massive majority under the leadership of Chief Minister MK Stalin. His remarks came on the final day of the intense assembly election campaign, where he actively participated in rallies across key constituencies.
Campaign Trail in Sholingur Constituency
On the last day of campaigning, Bhatti Vikramarka, accompanied by AICC observer and former MP Madhu Yashki, campaigned vigorously in Karikkal, Veeranattur, Ariyur, and Ayyapedu within the Sholingur constituency of Ranipet district. He emphasized that the people of Tamil Nadu are poised to vote decisively for development and secularism, expressing hope that voters would stand firmly for self-respect and progressive values.
Tamil Nadu Politics as a National Guiding Force
During his campaign speeches, Bhatti described Tamil Nadu politics as a guiding force for the entire nation. He highlighted the significant contributions of leaders such as Periyar EV Ramasamy, CN Annadurai, and M Karunanidhi, who laid a strong foundation for social justice and equitable governance. He praised the people of Tamil Nadu for their unwavering commitment to defending secularism against divisive forces.
Criticism of Central Government and Call for Unity
Bhatti Vikramarka strongly criticized the rulers at the Centre, alleging systematic attempts to suppress Tamil culture, language, and rights. He asserted that unity among secular forces is essential to counter these challenges and protect regional identities. He added that the convergence of Rahul Gandhi's message of love and MK Stalin's development agenda presents a powerful vision for the state's future.
Urging Support for DMK-Congress Alliance
He urged voters to back the DMK-Congress alliance to ensure continued welfare and development in Tamil Nadu. Bhatti emphasized that this alliance represents a blend of compassionate governance and robust economic progress, which is crucial for the state's advancement.
Highlighting Telangana's Welfare Schemes
In his address, Bhatti Vikramarka highlighted the successful implementation of various welfare schemes in Telangana as a model of effective governance. He noted that under the Mahalakshmi scheme, women are provided with free bus travel, enhancing their mobility and economic participation. Additionally, households benefit from free electricity up to 200 units through the Gruha Jyothi initiative, reducing financial burdens on families.
Fulfillment of Election Promises in Telangana
Bhatti stated that the Congress government in Telangana has not only fulfilled its election promises but has also delivered on additional commitments. Key achievements include the waiver of farm loans up to Rs 2 lakh under the Rythu Bharosa scheme, providing significant relief to farmers. Other notable schemes include gas cylinders at Rs 500, supply of fine rice to ensure food security, and free medical treatment up to Rs 10 lakh under the Rajiv Aarogyasri program, improving healthcare access for all.
