Telangana's Deputy Chief Minister, Bhatti Vikramarka, led the state's solemn commemorations for Vijay Diwas on Tuesday, honoring the brave soldiers who fought and sacrificed their lives in the historic 1971 war. The poignant ceremony took place at the iconic Amar Jawan Jyoti memorial located at the Parade Ground in Secunderabad.

Bhatti Vikramarka was joined by the Governor of Telangana, Jishnu Dev Varma, in paying respects to the nation's martyrs. The Deputy Chief Minister described Vijay Diwas as a day of immense national pride and a golden chapter in India's history.
"The unmatched courage and valour of our soldiers not only secured a decisive victory in 1971 but also firmly established India's dignity and strength on the global platform," Bhatti stated. He extended his salutations to the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, the military leadership of that era, and every soldier who laid down their life for the country, calling the remembrance a solemn and proud occasion for all citizens.
Call to Action for Newly Elected Sarpanches
In a separate event held later in the day, Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka addressed a gathering of newly elected village sarpanches. The felicitation ceremony took place in the Madhira constituency of Khammam district. He called upon the local leaders to become active and committed partners in Telangana's ambitious growth journey.
He urged them to work with determination for the holistic development of their villages. Bhatti emphasized focusing on critical sectors like agriculture, education, healthcare, and the promotion of agro-based industries. He highlighted the Congress party's significant local victory, noting that out of 131 sarpanch posts in Madhira, candidates backed by the party had won more than 90 seats, setting a new record.
Vision for a $3 Trillion Telangana Economy
Outlining the state government's forward-looking plans, the Deputy Chief Minister shared details from the Vision Document aimed at transforming Telangana into an economic powerhouse. A key target is to significantly boost the state's power generation capacity, aiming to reach 1.39 lakh MW by the year 2047.
He expressed confidence in the state's economic trajectory, revealing that investors have shown strong trust in Telangana's potential. Commitments for investments worth a staggering Rs 5.75 lakh crore have already been secured, signaling robust industrial and infrastructural growth in the coming years. This, he said, is a cornerstone for achieving the goal of building a $3 trillion economy for the state.
