A violent knife attack broke out between neighbours in the Aishbagh area of Bhopal on Thursday night following a dispute over bicycle parking, leaving five people injured, including two brothers. The incident occurred around 7 pm in Ahmed Ali Colony when an argument over parking a bicycle escalated into a physical altercation.
Details of the Incident
According to police reports, Asif Khan and Arif Khan, brothers residing in Ahmed Ali Colony, engaged in a heated argument with their neighbours Mohammad Ali and his sons Faiz and Saif. What started as a minor disagreement over bicycle parking quickly turned into verbal abuse and then a physical assault. Police stated that Mohammad Ali allegedly called his sons to the scene after the argument intensified. The trio then attacked Arif with a knife. Asif, who attempted to intervene and protect his brother, was also injured in the attack. Both brothers were admitted to a hospital, with one reported to be in critical condition.
Counter Allegations
In a counter complaint filed by the other side, it was alleged that Asif and Arif initiated the assault. During the scuffle, Arif purportedly attacked one person with a knife, severing a finger. Family members who tried to intervene were also allegedly threatened. Police have registered cases against both parties based on the complaints.
Police Action
Aishbagh police reached the spot after being informed and managed to bring the situation under control. Three accused—Mohammad Ali, Faiz, and Saif—have been arrested in connection with the attack. Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact sequence of events and to ensure justice is served.
