Bihar Chief Minister Calls for Strong National Branding of State's Progress

In a significant move to elevate Bihar's profile, Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has issued directives to the Information and Public Relations Department (I&PRD) to aggressively promote the state's achievements at the national level. During a review meeting held at the chief minister's secretariat in Patna on Saturday, Choudhary emphasized that Bihar's substantial development work must be effectively branded and communicated beyond state borders.

Focus on Communication and Revenue Generation

Choudhary stressed the urgent need for better communication strategies to showcase Bihar's governance and development initiatives. He highlighted that significant good work has been carried out in the state, but it remains underreported. To address this, he instructed officials to identify government land that could be utilized for advertisements and related purposes, aiming to generate additional revenue while ensuring optimal use of public assets.

Promoting Cultural Heritage and Tourism

Further expanding the branding efforts, the CM directed the department to identify cultural heritage sites at the district level and improve arrangements for providing tourists with accessible information. Choudhary noted that enhancing communication around these heritage locations would not only boost tourism but also help promote Bihar's rich cultural identity on a broader scale.

Leveraging Technology for Governance

Emphasizing a shift towards technology-driven governance, Choudhary called for the effective integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into administrative functions. He specifically tasked the urban development and housing department along with the panchayati raj department to explore and implement AI for real-time monitoring of government work, ensuring greater efficiency and transparency.

Current Initiatives and Future Plans

During the meeting, I&PRD Secretary Anupam Kumar briefed the CM on existing efforts, including the use of multiple platforms such as electronic media, social media, web portals, and influencers to spread awareness about welfare schemes and positive changes in Bihar. Kumar confirmed that initiatives like Brand Bihar, art, culture, and archaeological sites are actively being promoted, with AI already being utilized across various publicity mediums to enhance outreach.
