Administrative Actions and Consultations

Earlier in the day, CM Samrat Choudhary arrived at the Chief Minister's Secretariat and held detailed consultations with key officials to outline the governance framework. He met with Deputy Chief Ministers Vijay Kumar Choudhary and Bijendra Prasad Yadav, along with Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit and other senior administrators.

Following this, he summoned the principal secretaries of all departments and issued directives after a comprehensive review with administrative officials. Naveen Kumar, Principal Secretary of the Urban Development and Housing Department, delivered a presentation on ongoing development projects, underscoring the focus on infrastructure and urban planning.

Currently holding portfolios of 29 departments pending cabinet expansion, Choudhary also toured his office premises to familiarise himself with operations and ensure readiness for his governance agenda.

Engagements with Communities and Leaders

Later, CM Samrat Choudhary visited Takhat Sri Harimandir Patna Sahib Gurdwara, where the management committee welcomed him by presenting a 'saropa' (a ceremonial robe of honour). Members briefed him about the gurdwara's activities, with former minister Dilip Jaiswal accompanying him during the visit.

Earlier, Choudhary met and accepted greetings from a large number of BJP workers and leaders who gathered at his official residence at 5, Deshratna Marg since morning. He also visited 'Charkha Samiti', the residence of Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan in Kadamkuan, where he was accorded a warm welcome with drums and musical instruments. Several MLAs and NDA leaders were present at these events, highlighting broad political support.

Background and Governance Approach

Observers note that Samrat Choudhary, having previously served as Deputy Chief Minister, closely observed the functioning of his predecessor Nitish Kumar. This experience is expected to inform his governance style, with intentions to maximise efficiency and make the most of every day in office. His approach aims to build on past lessons while introducing new measures for transparency and development.

The CM's initiatives focus on:

  • Accelerating development projects across Bihar.
  • Ensuring transparent decision-making processes.
  • Implementing a zero-tolerance policy against corruption.
  • Enhancing public access to government services.
  • Strengthening accountability through file clearance and streamlined operations.

This comprehensive plan sets the stage for a transformative period in Bihar's governance, with Choudhary's administration poised to drive significant changes in the state's socio-economic landscape.
